Apple has updated its support website with a new list of countries in which iCloud Keychain is supported. iCloud Keychain was announced at WWDC 2013 earlier this year, and the feature allows users to create complex passwords and sync them via iCloud to their supported devices. The feature also allows users to store their credit card information in order to make payment processing online a faster process. The feature launched earlier this week with OS X Mavericks and iOS 7....

Apple announced the App Store Small Business Program last year, which allows small developers to pay a reduced commission for each sale made through the App Store. While it may seem like the company is giving up a significant amount of money, new estimates from analyst firm Sensor Tower show that Apple’s revenue is expected to decrease by only 5% with the program. The research first obtained by CNBC reveals that both Apple and Google, which also announced a similar program on Tuesday, are unlikely to be affected by cutting the fees they charge developers....

I got something really wrong. I honestly believed that after the two year period of AirTag rumors, we would all forget about them until we actually lost something! This is the strangest idea, Apple has filed a patent which would turn your video game play time into a comic or eBook you could edit, read and share (presumably via your iPad). As Mr Purcher at Patently Apple puts it “At the end of the day, I see a new iLife app in the making which will associate itself with a new online Apple comic book print service.” Maybe, the patent explains that gamers are asked to make lots of choices using customizable characters in many video games....

After first being announced and previewed in screenshots at WWDC in June, Apple has officially brought its subscription music service Apple Music to Google’s Android platform. Apple Music joins the iPhone maker’s other Android apps Move to iOS and the Beats Pill+ companion app on the Google Play Store. Apple Music offers access to a large catalog of streaming music and music recommendations. Music and music videos can be saved for offline listening as well....

As part of a code.org initiative to get people started with programming, U.S. Apple Stores are offering a free one-hour computer science workshop aimed at children and teens. The workshops take place in Apple retail stores on Wednesday 11th December. Following Apple’s iPad event today, Apple’s online store is now back up with details on the new Macs and iPads announced during today’s event. The site also has a link to upgrade to OS X Mavericks through the Mac App Store, which Apple announced would become available today for free. While Apple’s new iPad Air will be available (starting at $499) on Nov. 1 both online and in Apple retail stores, you can already purchase the refreshed MacBook Pro with Retina display starting at $1299....

After years of featuring the same, arguably stale design, Apple has redesigned the Apple ID web portal with a friendlier, modern look. The updated website now features product imagery including a girl wearing an Apple Watch Sport while using an iPhone and a MacBook can be seen with the logo illuminated in the background. The previous landing page featured app icons for iCloud, the App Store, iBooks, and other services that use Apple IDs, which were updated from iOS 6 to iOS 7 while the layout remained the same....

Patently Apple reports that the US Patent & Trademark Office has refused Apple’s application for a trademark in Touch ID. The decision – made in May but only now made public – is because another company already holds a trademark for Kronos Touch ID, and there is a “likelihood of confusion” given the very similar names. A search of the USPTO trademark database shows that the Kronos Touch ID trademark also related to a fingerprint recognition system, and that it has held the trademark since 2001:...

Apple announced a new Sign in with Apple button as part of its iOS 13 announcements. The button offers Apple ID single-sign on functionality similar to sign-in buttons from Twitter, Facebook or Google. Apple is marketing this as a privacy-secure sign-in option. Apple will mask user email addresses and other personal information, whilst still allowing the apps to contact users indirectly. Users select what information to share with the destination app....

Apple today is rolling out an update to the Apple Music app for Android users. The update continues to bring the app up to speed with its iOS counterpart and adds support for music videos and family memberships. The update follows the addition of widget support last month for the Android Apple Music app. With support for family plans, users can now subscribe or update to a six-person family membership, which is arguably one of the best features about Apple Music....

A new patent application published today by the United States Patent & Trademark Office details a system Apple could use to automatically configure security and other settings of a device based on its location or the habits of its user (Google filed for the same patent 2 months prior but who’s counting?). What’s changed though, is that the new model is just 16GB (as compared to 32GB and 64GB), and doesn’t have any rear camera (as compared to 5-megapixel shooter in the earlier model). And yes, it has lost some weight too (0.06 ounces). It seems Apple has decided to discontinue the sales of the older 4th generation iPod touch in favor of this new model, which is available to order in US apple online store for $229 with shipping in less than 24 hours....

Apple has confirmed with press that its next media event — the opening keynote of WWDC — will take place on June 4th at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. The keynote will be held in San Jose, California, at the McEnery Convention Center where Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference is held. WWDC 2018 runs June 4th through 8th with developer sessions on Apple’s latest platform technology scheduled throughout the week, and the opening keynote is where Apple first debuts its latest platform changes....

First, on the iPhone go to Settings » Messages » Receive At. This shows the addresses you receive iMessages at on your iPhone. By default this will be your iPhone’s number and your Apple ID. Add the email addresses that you’d like people to use to send you iMessages. The great thing about this is you can have coworkers, friends, and family all send you iMessages at separate email addresses....

Earlier today, Apple announced at WWDC 2021 that Apple Music Lossless and the Spatial Audio feature would be made available to all users today. Now the company is finally rolling out these features to Apple Music subscribers.
