Apple today shared a support article that offers users of the new 12-inch MacBook assistance getting around a bug involving Setup Assistant. According to the article, some users have had the spinning beach ball appear during the initial setup of their MacBook. Apple is suggesting that users who get stopped by this bug to either wait 30 minutes for setup to resume, or to complete the Setup Assistant process without connecting to the internet....

In preparation for iPhone X pre-orders tonight, Apple has taken its Online Store down. Pre-orders kick off at 12:01 AM PT/3:01 AM ET, so expect the store to return then. Apple is rolling out an update to the Dark Sky weather application it acquired last year. This marks only the second update since Apple announced its acquisition of Dark Sky, and it brings Apple Watch improvements, Accessibility updates, and more. Apple announced that it was acquiring the popular hyperlocal weather app Dark Sky in March 2020. The company recently announced that the app, website, and API will be shutting down at the end of 2022, but it looks like we can expect continued updates until then....

Apple today launched new international versions of its Smart Keyboard accessory for iPad Pro previously only available in a U.S. English layout. Available for both the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, Apple now offers the Smart Keyboard accessory with localized layouts including British English, French, Spanish, Korean, Italian and Arabic, among others. The new localized layouts include various differences similar to those available for the company’s Apple Wireless keyboards for Macs, while the new Arabic keyboard brings full support for the right-to-left language to Pad Pro....

Apple is today launching its zero-interest iPhone financing plan for Apple Card owners today. As reported by TechCrunch, the purchase method will roll out today across Apple retail stores, Apple.com and the Apple Store app on iOS. If you have an Apple Card, then you will be able to buy a new iPhone through that card and pay back the phone through monthly installments over 24 months with 0% interest....

On the heels of this past Tuesday’s annual shareholders meeting, Apple has made the transition to their new campus official by changing the company’s corporate address to One Apple Park Way. The change comes just weeks after Apple was given occupancy permits for several sections of the main campus building. Until today, Apple’s official contact webpage listed One Infinite Loop in Cupertino as the company’s official address, despite a continuous stream of employees beginning to make the move to Apple Park....

A recent report suggested that an Apple mixed-reality headset would be the Mac Pro of VR devices, priced at a level where the company would only expect to sell one unit per day per Apple Store. A new report today claims to have more specific details, including ultra-high-resolution 8K displays, and a price point somewhere around $3,000 … Apple’s known interest in this field has so far focused more on augmented reality (AR) than virtual reality (VR), but the recent reports point to a mixed-reality device, which would be mostly VR but including some real-world elements....

Apple has hired software engineer Greg Duffy for an unknown role at the company, according to The Information. Duffy is the co-founder of Wi-Fi camera firm Dropcam which was bought by Google in 2014 after being independent for five years. Dropcam later fell under parent company Alphabet after Google’s major restructuring and was absorbed into Nest. During his tenure at Nest, Duffy is said to have bumped heads with Nest co-founder and ex-iPod chief Tony Fadell....

In a strange slip up last November, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak said that Apple had purchased Nuance Communications for its Speech recognition technology. Apple, of course hadn’t, but the reason it was such big news was because the deal, on many levels, did make sense. Apple News is losing one of its biggest publishers with the New York Times leaving the platform. Two of the biggest factors was the outlet saying “Apple had given it little in the way of direct relationships with readers and little control over the business.” The New York Times shared the news in its own publication with the decision taking effect today, Monday, June 29: NYT highlights it is one of the first major media companies to leave Apple News and says the platform didn’t meet its goals:...

While the news is disappointing for fans of Apple’s routers, the end of the AirPort line is no surprise either. At the time, Apple told us that its AirPort line would remain — with the mesh Wi-Fi routers adding a solution for larger homes: So why discontinue the AirPort line today and not sooner? Apple manufacturers Foxconn and Pegatron and reportedly exploring investing in new factories in Mexico. The report from El Economista and says that sources indicate Foxconn is specifically planning to use the facility to manufacture the iPhone. Foxconn already has five factories in Mexico, but as the report explains, these are currently being used primarily to manufacture televisions and servers. This examination would focus on bringing some iPhone manufacturing to Mexico as well, the report says:...

The iPhone 4 officially landed in the 1.2 billion people market of India on May 27, beginning at 34,500 Indian rupees (about $760) for the 16GB version after a two-year service agreement. Update: Facebook tells The Verge it has no plans to enter the streaming music market. Apple may not be the only new entrant into the streaming music business: Musically suggests that Facebook is in the early stages of planning its own music service. Facebook has been talking to music labels for some time, but this was believed to relate only to YouTube-style ad-supported videos. But Musically says its sources say that Facebook sees this as a stepping stone toward a streaming audio service....

While there was no mention of AppleCare+ extended warranties at today’s unveiling, Apple’s preorder page for the new iPad does list the extended warranty as an option during the checkout process. The AppleCare+ for iPad extended protection plan provides coverage for accidental damage with each incident subject to a $49 fee. Apple initially began offering a $99 AppleCare+ protection plan for the iPhone 4S. According to Apple, the new iPad plan covers your iPad, your battery, any Time Capsule or AirPort device purchased two years before or during your plan, as well as the iPad’s power adapter and USB cable....

Apple’s 12th September mega event happened last week. We saw iPhone XS, XS Max and XR unveil in their full avatar. However, it was later revealed that the ‘budget’ device iPhone XR has not received FCC approval. Now more than after a week of its release, iPhone XR Gets FCC Certification.
